Lenovo IdeaPad 120S(-14IAP) Sub-$300 14″ Laptop (Intel Celeron, 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage)
The Lenovo IdeaPad 120S(-14IAP) is a very affordable 14-inch laptop with Windows 10 Home OS. Priced at $280 (SKU: 81A5006SUS), the lightweight 3.2 pound notebook delivers basic components, packed in a 0.7″ slim plastic chassis:
- A budget display with common 1366-by-768 resolution and without IPS-class wide viewing angles. It’s an anti-glare type screen.
- The Intel Celeron N3350 dual-core entry-level processor which is good only for basic day-to-day tasks – web surf, emails, MS Office, movies and music playback, etc.
- 4GB of system memory – minimal by today’s standards but still decently capacious for everyday use.
- 64GB of eMMC storage which is on the smaller side. Thankfully, it isn’t only 32GB you can find in some similarly priced laptops.
- The battery isn’t capacious either. It’s a 32 WHr unit, but on the positive side components aren’t power hungry. Lenovo’s estimated battery life is “up to 8.5 hours”.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 120S(-14IAP) has stereo speakers and a 0.3-Megapixel web camera. The laptop isn’t generous when it comes to peripheral connectivity. It has only two USB ports (one full-size USB 3.0 and a small USB-C). Besides that, there’s a HDMI video out, a microSD card reader, Bluetooth, and a combo audio jack. For Internet, you can use the notebook’s built-in 802.11AC Wi-Fi.

1 out of 5 Cheap price, cheap quality.
Rylie –
Had this laptop for about 2 years. Barely ever used it because it had some glitches. Only had a year warranty and I can’t get my money back this late in the game. Honestly, it’s only good for surfing the web and doing school work… if only they are saved to your google drive. Very limited space. Only had about 20 documents and 10 pictures saved and it ran out of space. Not good for a student or a writer who saves lots of drafts like me. I had a Lenovo computer gifted to me 13 years ago and it’s a pricy computer. I got the other one as a back up computer in case my laptop decided to quit. So now that my old one is worn out, and the new laptop is having problems, I can’t do anything. Thank God all of my important documents are saved in Google. Don’t by this particular laptop. Buy one that is over $300. That’s where the quality is.
