HP Pavilion x360 14M-BA013DX 2-in-1 14″ Touch Laptop (Intel Core i3, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Silver)
HP’s 14M-BA013DX model from the HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 convertible notebook line offers a great balance between included features, portability, and price. It’s currently priced at around $400. This 3.8-pound 2-in-1 sports a 14-inch touch-screen display mounted on a pair of 360-degree hinges, the lower-mid-range Intel Core i3-7100U processor, 6 Gigabytes of system memory, and a 500GB hard drive.
The fully foldable multi-touch 14″ screen provides a basic picture sharpness of 1366-by-768 pixels. Thankfully, HP has included IPS technology in the 14M-BA013DX, so delivered viewing angles are much better than on devices with low-cost TN panels.
For interaction with the system you can also use the laptop’s chiclet-style non-backlit keyboard and multi-touch trackpad with “click” buttons integrated in the surface.
The hart of the dark-gray and silver-colored HP Pavilion x360 14M-BA013DX is the 7th Generation Intel Core i3-7100U dual-core processor. It’s an excellent choice for the regular home and office tasks. The i3 chip can flawlessly handle web surfing, video conferencing, multimedia playback, or work in MS Office and similar productivity software. You can even play many of the popular game titles on it, thanks to the Intel HD 620 integrated graphics. RAM size of 6GB isn’t overly capacious, but it’s sufficient for medium-level multi-tasking. As for data storage, HP opted for a modest 500GB hard drive, which is the most basic storage device choice on today’s laptop market.
The HP 14M-BA013DX has stereo speakers and a 720p web camera, which are standard features in modern laptops. Regarding networking and connectivity, the machine is decently equipped. It has 802.11AC wireless network interface, Bluetooth, two standard-size USB 3.1 ports, a compact USB-C 3.1 port, HDMI video output connector, a combo audio jack for headphones & microphone, and a multi-format media card reader,
HP estimates the built-in 3-cell battery can provide a battery life of up to 8.5 hours with normal “mixed” use involved.
