HP Stream 11 (11-r010nr / 11-r020nr) Cheap 11.6-Inch Laptop with Intel Celeron, 2GB / 32GB
The HP Stream 11 series for year 2015 and available 11-r010nr / 11-r020nr models offer traditional laptop computing in a small and cheap, but attractive-looking and fanless package.
The Stream 11-r010nr and 11-r020nr, regularly selling for $199.99, have identical hardware and software specs. They feature the entry-level Intel Celeron N3050 processor, 2GB of system memory, 32GB of internal eMMC storage, Windows 10 Home OS, and a free 1-year Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription. The only difference between the 11-r010nr and 11-r020nr is chassis color. The former has “Cobalt Blue” paint, while the latter is “Violet Purple”. Both versions have gradient pattern on the keyboard base and single-tone display lid, as well as white keyboard keys.
Overall, HP’s Stream 11-r010nr / 11-r020nr won’t win any speed awards. The Celeron N3050 dual-core CPU reviewed here imposes limitations on processing speed, while 2GB of RAM limits multitasking potential. 32GB storage space is the smallest one used in modern laptops. Basically, users have at their disposal around 15 Gigabytes, since Windows 10 occupies the rest. However, these components are sufficient for basic daily usage, like surfing the web, YouTube and locally stored videos, or work in Microsoft Office applications.
The rest of the specs sheet is in line with the budget nature of the Stream 11. The display resolution of the 11.6-incher is 1366-by-768 pixels. The laptop has stereo speakers a 720p web cam, a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, HDMI video output, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD card reader, and a microphone / headphones 2-in-1 port.
This highly portable 2.6-pound laptop with a 0.7″ thick profile has a 38 WHr battery. There’s no info on battery life, but the previous Stream 11 with very similar components can last more than eight hours on a charge.
