Samsung Galaxy TabPro S 12″ 2-in-1 Tablet (Black SM-W700NZKAXAR & White SM-W700NZWAXAR)

The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is a Windows 10-based 2-in-1 tablet / laptop hybrid with a 12-inch high-resolution display and a detachable cover with built-in keyboard. There are two models of the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S: the SM-W700NZKAXAR with black finish and SM-W700NZWAXAR in white. Except color of the aluminum casing, the SM-W700NZKAXAR and SM-W700NZWAXAR are identical. Their 12″ multitouch displays sport above-Full HD 2160 x 1440-pixel resolution and Super AMOLED technology for high-quality contrast and colors and wide viewing angles. Furthermore, the display has 3:2 aspect ratio instead of common movie-friendly 16:9, making the device rather focused on productivity than entertainment.

When you connect the tablet to the keyboard for use in the laptop mode, you can prop up the screen at either 65 or 165 degrees, so the angle isn’t fully adjustable. With a weight of just 1.5 pounds and a thickness of only 0.25″, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is a very lightweight tablet, but Samsung hasn’t included info on dimensions and weight when the tablet is combined with the keyboard. Nevertheless, the Tab Pro S is a highly portable PC.

The Galaxy TabPro S isn’t a high-performance PC by no means. The included Intel Core m3-6Y30 “Skylake” processor paired with 4GB of system memory and a solid state drive rather offers decent performance for day-to-day home and office tasks with no insane multitasking involved. Offered SSD storage capacity options are 128GB and 256GB. Game rendering relies on the Intel HD 515 integrated graphics which is good only for non-demanding indie titles, MMORPGs, and select light first person shooter and racing games.

The TabPro S sports dual 5-megapixel cameras, one on the front side of the device and one on the back. For sound, there are built-in stereo speakers.

For some users a major downside might be presence of only combo audio jack, Bluetooth, and one USB-C port for connecting external devices, but the USB-C enables expansion via adapters with full-size USB and video output connectors. For Internet connectivity, the 2-in-1 uses 802.11AC wireless. Furthermore, there’s NFC interface and a GPS receiver. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD or SD memory card slot in the device, so you won’t be able to expand built-in storage except with a separate USB(-C) memory card reader.

According to the manufacturer, the battery can last up to 10.5 hours on a single charge.

Samsung has announced earlier the same device will be available with Windows 10 Pro, 4G LTE connectivity, and pen input support, but these are not offered at the time of this writing.
