The Asus Zenbook UX32VD-DB71 is the latest Ultrabook by the Taiwanese computer maker.
The new 13.3-inch Zenbook is much more powerful than the first generation Zenbooks, not only thanks to the new Intel Core Ivy Bridge processors, but also Nvidia’s dedicated graphics. With the Intel Core i7-3517UE running at up to 2.8 GHz in TurboBoost mode, the GeForce GT 620M 1GB graphics, and 4GB RAM, the ASUS Zenbook UX32VD-DB71 is an Ultrabook you can actually do some 3D gaming on, although gaming performance isn’t a priority when it comes to Ultrabooks.
But, portability is. Measuring 0.22-0.70 in profile and with a weight of 3.19 lbs, the UX32VD is one of the lightest and slimmest laptops on the market. It is made mostly of aluminum and sports an airline spun metal finish with concentric circles. This model comes with silver color on the palm rests and gray lid.
Regarding display, it appears to be the best part of the laptop. It’s an IPS panel with 1080p resolution, 350cd/m2 brightness, and the last but not least, anti-glare coating.
For data storage, the UX32VD-DB71 uses a 500GB hard drive, accompanied by a 24GB SSD, reserved for Instant On feature, enabling 2-second system resumes.
Other important features are its backlight keyboard, Bang and Olufsen IcePower audio technology, a 720p web camera, and built-in Intel Wireless Display module.
The ASUS Zenbook UX32VD-DB71 is currently priced at $1,300.

Besides the DB71, Asus will make available other UX32VD configurations, relying on Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics, as well as the UX31A/UX21A with HD 4000 and SSD-only storage.
