Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with NVIDIA Ion Now Available
The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook models with the NVIDIA Ion multimedia-oriented platform are now available for purchase.
The Ion-based IdeaPad S12 features a 12.1-inch 1280×800 display, a 256MB dedicated graphics card supporting full HD video playback, the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU and Windows 7 OS. The first two released models - the 29595FU and 295954U - include 2GB and 3GB of DDR2 RAM and 250GB and 320GB hard drives, respectively. Both netbooks have a 6-cell battery, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a black chassis.

Dell Adamo XPS Ultra-Thin Laptop Announced
Dell has announced the Adamo XPS, an ultra-thin 13.4-inch laptop with an innovative hinge.
According to the leaked specifications, the 1.5-pound Adamo XPS features Intel’s 1.4GHz or 1.9GHz ultra-low voltage processor, the GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 120GB of 180GB solid state drive with Windows 7 OS pre-installed, and two battery options: 20Wh for 2.5 hours or 40Wh for four hours of battery life. The notebook is reportedly 0.4 inch thin.

Apple Launches Unibody MacBook
Apple launched today the new white MacBook laptop, featuring a 13.3-inch LED-backlight display, a new polycarbonate unibody case, a non-user-removable battery that lasts up to 7 hours, and a glass Multi-Touch trackpad.
The 1.08 inches thin 4.7-pound MacBook has a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, and a slot-load DVD burner. The 13.3″ glossy display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
Toshiba Satellite T115 Overview
The Toshiba Satellite T115 is an 11.6-inch mini-laptop that belongs to the new Satellite T100 ultra-thin series.
The 3.5-pound T115 is powered by the Intel Pentium SU4100 or Celeron 743 ultra-low voltage processor and features DDR3 memory, a hard drive with 250GB or more storage space, a 6-cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of battery life, a 1366×768 LED backlight display, and Windows 7 operating system. The laptop does not include a built-in optical drive.

The laptop does not include a built-in optical drive.
Netbooks with Windows 7 Available For Pre-Order
The first netbooks with Windows 7 operating system are now available for pre-order in the US and will start shipping on October 22.
Around 70 Windows 7 Starter Edition-based netbooks by Acer, Asus, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung and Gateway can be purchased from Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect and other retailers. Regarding hardware, most of the listed netbooks are actually old models with 10.1-inch displays, Intel Atom processors, 1GB of RAM, and up to 250GB of hard drive storage.
HP Envy 13 Series Overview
The HP Envy 13 Series thin-and-light 13.1″ laptop is now available for purchase.
Measuring less than an inch thin and weighing 3.7 pounds, the Envy 13 has a chassis made of aluminum and magnesium. The notebook is based on Intel’s low voltage SL9400/SL9600 or ultra-low voltage SU9600 CPU and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB dedicated graphics. It comes with up to 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space, and a 4-cell battery with an optional 6-cell extended-life unit. The laptop doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.
HP Envy 13, 15 Laptops Now Available
Hewlett-Packard’s 13.1-inch thin-and-light Envy 13 and the 15.6-inch high-performance Envy 15 laptops are now available.
The Envy 13 and 15 sport sleek and lightweight design with metal elements and are based on Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core i7 processors respectively. According to HP, the Envy 13 boasts the brightest display in its class, and the HP Envy 15 is the company’s fastest consumer notebook PC ever.
Acer Launches Dual-Boot Android/XP AOD250 Netbook
Acer has announced a dual-boot version of the Aspire One AOD250 netbook, which includes Adroid and Windows XP operating systems.
Android is a lightweight Linux-based open source OS designed specifically for mobile devices. Acer says that Android allows the Aspire One netbook to boot up and shut down quickly with “instant on” Internet connectivity.
Toshiba Announces Satellite U505, M505 Touch-Screen Laptops
Toshiba announced today the 13.3-inch Satellite U505 Touch and 14-inch Satellite M505 Touch laptops, both with touch-screen displays and Windows 7 operating system.
“Users now will have a new choice in ways to interact with their laptop, whether flicking through photos, shuffling files, browsing online or playing games, utilizing Windows Touch-enabled functionality. The new Satellite M505 Touch and Satellite U505 Touch laptops let users tap, drag-and-drop and scroll through files, Web pages and images,” the press release says.
Sony VAIO X - “World’s Lightest Notebook” Released
Sony released today the 11.1-inch VAIO X Series, “the world’s lightest notebook”.
The Sony VAIO X Series weighs 1.6 pounds with its standard battery and is 0.55 inch thin. It is based on Intel’s “Menlow” platform and includes an Intel Atom Z550 2GHz processor, the GMA 500 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 64GB or 128GB solid state drive with Windows 7 pre-installed. The VAIO X doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.
Lenovo IdeaPad U150 11.6″ Ultraportable Unveiled
Lenovo showcases a new 11.6-inch ultraportable laptop - the IdeaPad U150 - at the ongoing CEATEC expo in Japan.
The manufacturer didn’t provide info on notebook’s detailed specifications. However, a retailer called Xmit lists a 0.53 inch thick 2.97-pound IdeaPad U150 that features the Intel CULV platform with the Pentium SU4100 1.3GHz CPU and the GMA X4500 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, a 6-cell battery, and Windows Vista Home Basic OS. The display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and LED backlight.
Gateway EC18T 11.6″ Tablet PC Leaked
Gateway is going to release the EC18T Tablet PC with an 11.6-inch touch-screen display, according to leaked images and specifications.
The EC18T convertible laptop features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, Intel’s GS45 chipset with integrated GMA 4500 series graphics, and Windows 7 OS.
