Sony VAIO SVE14A27CXH

The Sony Vaio SVE14A27CXH laptop model from the E-series is special in many ways. First of all, the 14-incher not that only has a touchscreen display, but it also has a surprisingly high resolution for that diagonal, with 1600-by-900 pixel count. Windows 8 runs with help of the 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3632QM quad-core processor, which belongs to the higher-end of the mobile CPU range. It is accompanied by both the AMD Radeon HD 7670M mid-range dedicated video card with 2GB VRAM and Intel’s on-CPU HD 4000-series graphics, for optimal graphics performance and battery life.

Delving further inside, the Vaio SVE14A27CXH offers the biggest laptop hard drive capacity on the market of 1TB (single unit), while for RAM it has 8GB. The notebook has a DVD burner and a six-cell battery, good for up to 5 hours and 45 minutes of autonomy, according to Sony. Other notable features are its backlight keyboard and Bluetooth 4.0.

The laptop comes in “Gunmetal” gray color with “Vintage Gold” accents.

Having all of these features in mind, one would expect an above $1,000 price tag. Surprisingly, the Vaio SVE14A27CXH costs $950, which is not bad for one of the best equipped 14″ laptops on the market. If you want to save $200, you can take a look at the Vaio SVE14A35CXH, with an i5 CPU, integrated-only graphics, and smaller RAM and HDD.

  1. I got it refurbished in 2013 for about 800-900 dollars. TO this day it still does a great job, besides the graphic card which kinda sucks.. I believe nothing BUT the hinges has broken and the hinges are the result of it falling to the ground twice. (also cd/dvd sucked from the beginning but I kinda don’t use it)

Sometimes the hdd gets kinda slower too. Other than that this i7 in perticular is still more sporty than most newest processors that come out in laptops- check for mobile processor ranking. If you have any questions go ahead and send me a pm.

ONE THING, never update your BIOS from the one you received the product. I did and only thing it did was a momental hang over on the laptop, like a few-sec lag. It was so horrible I exchanged it for another one of these.
