The HP Stream 14-ax069st for $199.99 is Staple’s flagship Black Friday 2017 laptop offer. This basic 14″ Windows 10 notebook comes with a free 1-year Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription (normally $69.99). That makes the offer even better, so the 14-ax069st will surely be one of the best selling Black Friday laptops. Yes, the HP Stream 14-ax069st is an entry-level notebook. But on the other hand, it can handle the daily computing tasks of the average user. Like web surfing, emails, work in Microsoft Office programs, Netflix, YouTube, and some light games. For these and other duties, the HP Stream 14-ax069st uses the Intel Celeron N3060 (review) dual-core processor, 4GB of system memory, and 64GB of eMMC-based internal storage (up from usual 32GB on similar systems).
Furthermore, the low-power internal components have enabled fanless design of the notebook. So it runs completely silent. Also, the components aren’t power-hungry. With its decently sized 41 WHr battery, the laptop can provide “up to 10 hours and 45 minutes” of battery life, according to Hewlett-Packard. The white plastic-cladded Stream 14-ax069st is very light, too. It weighs in at 3.2 pounds.
As expected, the 14-ax069st has a basic display with 1366-by-768 resolution. This glossy screen uses TN display technology, meaning narrower viewing angles than on IPS screens. Touch functionality isn’t supported. The chiclet-style keyboard has no backlight. Rounding off the main specs, the laptop has stereo speakers and a web camera.
The machine is decently equipped when it comes to networking and connectivity. It has a pair of the latest full-size USB 3.1 ports and one older USB 2.0 port, HDMI video output, 802.11AC Wi-Fi wireless, Bluetooth, an SD media card reader, and a combo mic-in / headphones-out audio port.
