HP g7-1219wm 17.3″ Notebook to Sell on Black Friday for $388

With a price of $388, the HP g7-1219wm is not intended to be the main Walmart Black Friday door-buster.

It’s more expensive than the HP 2000-329WM and Compaq Presario CQ57-319WM, but on the other side it has better specifications. The HP g7-1219wm from the Pavilion series, listed in Walmart’s Black Friday catalog, packs a larger 17.3″ screen, the newer AMD Fusion E-450 processor with dual CPU cores at 1.65GHz, the Radeon HD 6320 integrated graphics, and a dedicated HD video decoder for smooth 1080p video playback. It has more RAM and a larger hard drive than the HP 2000 and CQ57 – 4GB and 500GB, as well as a webcam, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.

Walmart hasn’t provided detailed specifications in the Black Friday ad, but we found them on an official specs page on HP’s website.

Here are the specs which are missing from the ad:

  • the display resolution is 1600×900 pixels,
  • there’s a bulit-in DVD writer,
  • there are three USB 2.0 ports,
  • both HDMI and VGA outputs,
  • Wi-Fi and Ethernet LAN,
  • Altec Lansing stereo speakers, and
  • 6-cell 47WHr lithium-ion battery.
  • The weight is 6.05.
  • OS version is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

The notebook will be on sale on November 25th, starting at 12:01 AM.

    • Please explain this a little further. Are you saying you typed the number of the $248.00 in and the 17″ came up instead of the 15.6? I typed it in too and mine came up as the 15.6.

    • I wouldn’t expect to find any special word processing software on this laptop, except Windows’ standard WordPad nad NotePad, and maybe a trial version of Microsoft Office suite with Word. But, you can download Open Office suite for free.

The hardware is sufficient for word processing, so I don’t see any problem in that area.
