HP 15t 1FT89AV_1 (2017) Affordable 15.6″ Laptop with Intel Core CPUs, Optional Touch
The HP 15t 1FT89AV_1 is the 2017 version of Hewlett-Packard’s popular 15t budget 15.6-inch notebook PC line. The HP 15t 1FT89AV_1 is one of many models from the series. It stands out here, because it is configurable via the official HP Store, as opposed to pre-configured models you can often find at retailers. The notebook starts at $369.
The main characteristics of the 15t 1FT89AV_1 are HD or Full HD resolution on the 15.6″ display with optional touch-screen support, the Intel Core processors, and plastic-clad chassis in six different colors. You can configure the laptop with the 7th Gen Intel Core i3-7100U, i5-7200U, and i7-7500U dual-core CPUs, up to 16GB of system memory, and hard drive or solid state drive data storage options. Available are 1TB and 2TB hard drives, as well as 128GB and 256GB SSDs. These components ensure work on your daily computing chores without hardware-related hiccups. If you’re into gaming, it’s worth noting that the laptop provides only basic game rendering capability via its Intel HD 620 integrated graphics.
The laptop doesn’t have a built-in DVD drive nor keyboard backlight. But it does provide other usual laptop features like stereo speakers, a web camera, Wi-Fi wireless (802.11 N or AC), optional Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN wired network interface, a web camera, two USB 3.1 ports and one USB 2.0, HDMI video jack, a media card reader, and a combo mic/headphones connector.
There are two battery options when purchasing the HP 15t 1FT89AV_1 – a 31 WHr battery and a more capacious 41 WHr unit. According to HP, the maximal battery life is “up to 8 hours and 30 minutes” on configurations with the HD display and “up to 6 hours and 15 minutes” with Full HD.
Operating system options are Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.

what extendibility or upgradeability does it have. Im looking into buying one and adding my own hard drive to it after the fact but cant find anywhere, where it shows what options it has for unscrewing the bottom and upgrading

Hi, I have found a maintenance manual for this model. It’s here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257
There’s a guide in it for removing the bottom (page 50) and accessing the notebook’s hard drive (page 57). But keep in mind that only the battery and optical drive are “Customer Self-Repair” parts. HDD, SSD, RAM and other internal parts are “Authorized Service Provider” parts. This means that replacing the HDD yourself will maybe void your warranty, so please check with your seller whether that’s the case.
