The Asus Q552UB-BHI7T12 is a 2-in-1-style 15.6″ touch-screen Full HD laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, a dedicated video card by Nvidia, 12GB of system memory, a 1TB hard drive, aluminum black chassis, and Windows 10 Home OS.
With these specs, the Q552UB-BHI7T12 is a higher-end notebook model. Its screen is mounted on a 360-degree rotating hinge and provides IPS wide viewing angles, besides sharp FHD 1920×1080 resolution. Also, it’s one of the rare convertible laptops with a dedicated GPU. The included one is the Nvidia GeForce 940M 2GB, which is a lower-mid-range graphics card, but still capable to significantly boost gaming performance in comparison to common integrated GPUs. The heart of the system is the latest 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6500U processor. It’s a fast dual-core CPU, with sufficient power for both everyday routine tasks and computing-intensive operations like editing of videos and high-resolution photos. 12GB of RAM is more than enough for all multitasking needs of a typical PC user, whereas the 1TB hard disk drive provides a plenty of storage space for your personal files and program installations. True, HDDs greatly lag behind solid state drives in terms of read and write speeds, and that’s the only downside of this notebook performance-wise.
The Q552UB-BHI7T12 also has a DVD burner and backlight keyboard to complete the impressive specs sheet. Furthermore, the laptop comes bundled with an external cylindrical-shaped subwoofer to accompany built-in stereo speakers and provide richer bass sound.

Adam –
I’ve had the laptop 3 years and it meets my needs. However, this work-from-home thing is new to me and I wondered how much RAM the chip & motherboard could use (I still have the 12 it came with).

Darryl Lewis –
there’s only 1 removable memory chip, its 8gb (4 is built in). not sure on the max though
Frederick –
I have a whole workin one of these if you still need
Adam –
Thank you kindly but it works fine; I was just wondering if more RAM was possible. It looks like it comes maxed out. I replaced the hard drive with solid state and had the bug to tinker some more.

I am looking for a q552ub motherboard. It appears asus taped the battery connector down and when I went to change the battery the connector came off. This is really shady of them. The case had never been opened until I went to change the battery because it had never charged right. Anyone have a motherboard??

I have this laptop. It is pretty nice. Anyone know if I can upgrade it to a quad core i7? The cpu is a bit slow to be honest with dual cores it can’t handle devices like elgato or high performance rendering.

Unfortunately, no. The CPU in this laptop and CPUs in most laptops on the market are soldered onto the motherboard. So, they aren’t upgradeable.

Where is the vent location on this PC

Danijel Z –
It impossible to find info online abut the vent on the Q552. But, the laptop has the same chassis as the Q551, which has vent holes on the rear side of the keyboard deck. So, I’m sure the Q552 has a rear vent, too, like in this video: https://youtu.be/jf8Nt_tYthE?t=39

Will a stylus pen work with this laptop and if so which one?

Danijel Z –
With this laptop you can use basic capacitive pens, without pressure sensitivity and other advanced features of active digitizer pens. That’s because the display doesn’t support active digitizer tech. Any kind of capacitive pens should work with this notebook.
