The Windows 10-based Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7202, as same as the older hardware-identical C75D-B7100 and C75D-B7300 with Windows 8.1, is designed primarily with low cost and comfortable home and office computing in mind. It has a price tag of under $400, a large 17.3″ 1,600-by-900-pixel display and spacious keyboard deck, good performance for everyday tasks, and a wide selection of connectivity features. On the downside, it’s not suitable for taking on trips and carrying around much because of bulkiness. It’s 1.3″ thick and weighs 5.9 pounds.

The C75D-B7202 configuration is based on the mid-tier AMD A8-6410 quad-core processor with Radeon R5 series integrated graphics. In daily operations, that means enough power for smooth web browsing, emails, office productivity, and movie watching. Occasionally, you can use it for video creation and photography editing, but if you do these on daily basis it’s clever to invest in a pricier laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor. Modern 3D gaming on the Radeon R5 IGP is supported only on low graphics quality settings. 6GB of RAM memory ensures there will be no RAM related glitches even during heavy multitasking. The provided 750GB hard drive is larger than HDDs commonly found in modern notebooks, usually sporting 500GB units.

The remaining features are stereo speakers, a 720p camera for video conferencing, three USB connectors, HDMI and VGA for video output to TVs and monitors, a multi-in-one media card reader, and Wi-Fi wireless and wired Ethernet LAN networking. In short, everything an average user needs to get the job done.

Toshiba’s Satellite C75D-B7202 is claimed to have a battery life of up to six hours, but that’s probably under the lightest possible load and screen brightness. A battery life of between 4 and 5 hours appears to be more realistic, considering the given specifications.

If you’re generally interested in the big form factor of the laptop, but you’re not satisfied with looks and features of the C75D, you can check out other 17.3″ notebooks such as the affordable Dell Inspiron 17 5000 5758 or HP Pavilion 17t.
